Frequently Asked Questions

 

What are the times for the event?
Rockin The Cloud 2017 – New Year’s Eve block party will take place on Sunday, December 31, 2017.  The first band is scheduled to take the stage at 6 pm; with live music throughout the event until the closing performance, which will be shortly after the stroke of midnight.  The event will officially end at 1 am.

Where is the event taking place?
The main stage for this event will be at the intersection of 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue  A second stage will be located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 12th Street set back on the west corner of 12th Street. See event map below.

Will you be closing streets?
Yes!  Street closures will begin on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 10th Street for stage setup around 4 pm.  Additional closures will begin at 6 am on December 31, 2017.  Pennsylvania Avenue from 9th Street to 13th Street (HWY 192) as well as the alleyways will be closed for the duration of the event.  Portions of Pennsylvania Avenue will re-open after the event and entirely open by 12 pm on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.  See event map below.

Where can I park?
Limited public parking and handicap parking areas will be available in the downtown area on New York Avenue, Massachusetts Avenue, and the City Hall parking lot.  See event map below.

Who is performing?
On the main stage at 6 pm, the opening band “Wilted Chilis” will perform, followed by “Red Hot Rooster”, then “Doubting Abby” and finally our featured headliner “Tobacco Rd Band”.

Do I need tickets?
No, tickets are not required for this free-admission event.  However, we do ask that if you are able to,  please participate in a survey during the event to help us continue to offer such an AWESOME event!

What is this “Cloud Drop” thing all about?
We will have the 2nd Annual “Cloud Drop” countdown to celebrate the New Year.  Just like the Lighted Ball in Times Square, St. Cloud will be ringing in 2018, with our very own illuminated cloud.

Will I be able to purchase food?
Most of the businesses on Pennsylvania Ave will be open and ready to serve you at this event. In addition, we will also have food-truck vendors available.  

​

Will I be able to purchase alcohol?
Yes – However, alcohol consumption and open containers will only be permitted during the event times and within the barricaded event area.  Only alcoholic beverages purchased within the event area will be allowed.

​

Is this a family friendly event?
This event is for people of all ages.  However, parental discretion is advised for younger children.  This event is not recommended for younger children.  This event will have very loud music on two different stages, very large crowds – up to 5000 people- and alcoholic beverages will be sold.

Can I bring my own beverages?
You may bring non-alcoholic beverages unopened and in their original containers.  Coolers and outside alcoholic beverages will not be permitted inside the barricaded event area. 

​

What if it rains?
Rain or shine, the show must go on.  The City’s Public Safety Officer will decide on cancellation in the event of severe weather.

Will you be selling event T-shirts?
Yes! Yes! Yes! – Please be sure to visit our Non-Profit partner PINK HEALS of St. Cloud to purchase your commemorative Rockin The Cloud 2017 event T-shirt.

I am a food/merchandise vendor, how can I get a booth?
